Introducing The Shag Zinc-Lead Property, an exceptional mining opportunity located in the picturesque Rocky Mountains of southeastern British Columbia. This property, situated near the towns of Canal Flats and Radium Hot Springs, offers unparalleled potential for mineral exploration and development.
Key Highlights
Location of Shag Property
Strategic Location: Ideally positioned approximately 35 km east of Radium Hot Springs, the property is easily accessible via major BC forestry service roads. The upper portion of Shag creek valley can be reached by helicopter, offering flexibility for exploration.
Vast Area: Comprising four mineral claims, the property spans a total of 2,108.54 hectares, with a combined strike length of 15 kilometers, covering a total area of 2,850 hectares.
Rich Mineral Potential: The Shag zinc-lead property boasts significant exploration potential with promising geological trends and multiple showings of sphalerite and galena. The property is ideally positioned to capitalize on the rich mineral resources of the region.
Historic Mining Activity: The area hosts previous producing mines, Monarch and Kicking Horse, which produced 842k tonnes grading 10.0% Zn, 7.0% Pb, and 1.2 oz Ag/t.
Extensive Exploration History: Zinc and lead mineralization were first discovered in 1977 by the exploration arm of Rio Tinto Ltd. Since then, nine mineral exploration and four drilling programs have been conducted up to 1998, indicating Mississippi Valley (MVT) type mineralization.
Significant Mineral Showings: Over 20 Zn/Pb showings along a 5 km section of Shag Valley, including the BM horizon with 4 showings over 500 meters, the C-4 type horizon with 4 showings over 1,000 meters, and the Redbed horizon with 7 main showings and 3 float showings over 600 meters.
Impressive Assay Results: In 1978, rock samples graded up to 48.4% Zn and 28% Pb, and in 1981, a drill hole intersected 14.6% Zn and 30.35 g/t Ag over 2.8 meters.
